Planned Engineering Works

Cromwell Tower, London
The plan today was to go visit a couple of photo galleries, which I didn't get around to doing last weekend as I was interrupted by a whale. The first exhibition on the cards was Tim Simmons at the Blue Gallery in Clerkenwell. The photos looked really interesting on the web. After working out how to get there I arrived at Kings Cross to catch the tube to Farringdon tube only to find that there were no trains running due to "planned engineering works". Change of plans. Bus then a 15 minute walk, which wouldn't have been too bad if the gallery hadn't been shut due to "unforseen circumstances" when I got there. Aaaargh. Unfortunately the exhibition shuts this week so probably won't get there after all. Grrrr. Luckily the other gallery I wanted to checkout was nearby. Unluckily that was closed too ....
After being twice defeated i decided to give up on all plans and maps and just go for a wander. Ended up walking all the way back to Waterloo Station via the Barbican Estate, where the photo is from, the Museum of London, St Pauls, down through The City, west along the Strand and then south over Waterloo Bridge. Ended up being quite the walk!
